Durant Trails Homeowners Association Pool Rules
- Upon entering the pool each day, all homeowners & guests will be required to log in at the table/desk and crossed off against a master roster sheet.
- During lifeguarded hours, the following rules are required for children of ages:
- 10 and under - MUST be accompanied by a parent or other responsible person at least 18 years old and authorized in writing by a parent.
- Between 11-13 years old - the child can attend without adult supervision or an authorized responsible person, however, a parent/child waiver form must be submitted. The form can be obtained by clicking here or copies picked up at Charleston Management. A wristband will be given to the child upon entering the pool and signing in. SHOULD THE BEHAVIOR OF THE CHILD BE DEEMED TO BE UNACCEPTABLE BY THE LIFEGUARDS ON DUTY AT THE TIME, A PARENT WILL THEN BE CONTACTED AND THE CHILD MUST BE PICKED UP IMMEDIATELY. Also, if a parent is contacted for misbehavior, the waiver form will be invalidated and the child will be required to have adult supervision during pool visits.
- During all "swim at your own risk" times, NO child 17 or younger will be allowed to swim without the direct supervision provided by their parent or other responsible person.
- Abusive or profane language is prohibited.
- Rough play will not be allowed.
- The toddler pool is only for children 4 years old and younger.
- Diaper age children must wear swim diapers plus additional waterproofing protection such as rubber pants in both the toddler pool and the main pool. Contamination resulting from improper diaper protection will affect pool operation. If contamination occurs, report the incident immediately to the lifeguard on duty or to Charleston Management at 847-3003.
- There will be a 10-minute rest period every hour (main pool only) for everyone under 18 years of age.
- Lifeguards are not on duty during the rest period. Adults may swim at their own risk during that time.
- Large flotation devices (rafts, inner tubes, wave boards, etc.) will not be allowed in the pool; kick boards, noodles, water wings and floats less than 2 ft. in diameter are allowed. Only soft sponge-like balls permitted. No hard items such as tennis balls and alike.
- A $3 charge per guest will be required. All guests MUST be accompanied at all times by a homeowner/adult (at least 18 years of age). Guest fees are waived only under the following conditions:
- Guest age under 10 years old.
- Grandparents (homeowners in Durant Trails/Reserves) bringing their grandchildren.
- Babysitters bringing the children they are watching. If the babysitter is under the age of 18, then he/she needs the written permission from the parent of child.
- NO glass containers, alcoholic beverages, chewing gum, water guns or pets will be allowed in the pool or pool area.
- NO skateboards, scooters or roller blades are allowed in the pool or tennis court areas. Bikes must be left at the bike rack, not blocking the pool gate.
- NO SMOKING will be permitted within the pool area.
- All homeowners are asked to clean up after themselves when visiting at the pool. This means picking up and throwing away all trash and straightening pool furniture.
- The pool will not be available for pool parties, whether the pool is open or closed. The HOA Board has the authority to allow HOA sanctioned pool parties.
Pool Disciplinary Policy
During one day: If a person is not acting in a responsible manner as determined by the lifeguards, the person will be given a warning to cease the conduct.
If the misconduct occurs a second time that day, the offending person will be asked to leave the pool for the balance of the day.
Repeated misconduct: If a person is asked to leave the pool 2 times during the season, he or she will be prohibited from using the pool for the balance of season. At that time, the Pool Committee has the right to further limit use of the pool by revoking their card-key. Admittance will be reviewed only after that person has pleaded their case at the next scheduled Board meeting.
Improper use of Security Card-Key: The Pool Committee has the right to revoke the card-key privilege of any homeowner who improperly uses their card-key. This applies to any adult homeowners allowing under-age children access to their card-keys.
